| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2024 | 31 Reminder for those who have already signed up and paid, our June event is June 1 and will feature the fabulous singing duet of Lori and Lisa. Our May entertainment was the wonderful duo of Generations, brothers Kenny and Chris. OMG, the reaction of our club to these two dynamic entertainers is a true joy to observe. Some of the songs they sang were Tears on My Pillow, Earth Angel, Poor Little Fool, Burning Love (which drew a huge reaction from the crowd to Chris's Elvis karate moves!) and Unforgettable. The 80s Club laughed, cried, swooned, ogled and ooohhed and aaahed for these two super singers/ performers. I'm not exaggerating, the crowd really, truly does go wild for them and we'd love to have them every month if we could. They ended the show with a Memorial Day tribute to our veterans in which everybody stood for their incredibly moving version of God Bless the USA and in which many became tearful including myself. Thank you Kenny and Chris, I cannot say enough great things about you! The 80s Club is for our Sun Lakes residents near or over 80 years of age along with their guests, no matter their ages. Our events begin at 3 pm, and include a brief meeting with announcements, then entertainment and the meals begin before 4 pm. Our attendance each month is very close to the capacity at the South Clubhouse and it makes for a very festive and interacting group. Come join us once for the meal price of $18 to see if you might enjoy our group and only if you do, do you need to join for the second time you attend. Our dues are $10 a year per person. Our meals are $18 per month. Get your checks to Donna Harrington (for $18 per person) at 5393 Riviera for our July event reservations before June 30. If the event sells out, the box will be removed and an event closed note will be there. If you are mailing in your check we must have it in by the deadline date and make sure your phone number is on the check. We're always at the South Clubhouse and people begin arriving at 2:30 to get checked in and get their seats and the program starts at 3 pm. Please do not arrive before 2:15 as we are still setting up. Please make your checks out to 80s Plus Club. Also, please make sure your phone numbers are on your checks.
