As of this date, we don't have a specific project planned for our monthly make-n-take. Several ideas have been tossed around. We still want to create little fold out albums together as a group but several of us have already completed them on our own. It's the beginning of summer, which means lots of opportunities to put together albums of places visited, or travel plans yet to come. Don't risk losing those memories. Get them down in some sort of scrapbook to preserve those treasured moments. We all too often leave our photos on our phones or computers. If they remain there, they are at risk of being lost forever. Do you want to take that chance? In June, we meet on four Mondays, June 3, 10, 17, and 24. All meetings are in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, from 1 to 3 pm. One exception is the second Mon., June 10, when we meet from 11 am to 1 pm. Our fun monthly luncheon will be held in the far end of the Dining Room (near the Sandwedge) on Thurs., June 13 at 11:30 am. We have been quite happy having our lunches in this location, as it feels cozy, and we can usually all sit at the same table. We always pass around all the birthday cards given to the guest of honor for others to see. Although not required, several of us make the cards and it is so enjoyable to see what others have created. I have noticed that more and more of our group are producing these handmade cards. Others who have chosen to buy birthday cards at times have found hysterically funny cards that we get a big laugh out of. For more information about our group, please call Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768. Paper Crafting | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2024 | 29 This beautiful quilt was won at a raffle at Vivian Myrdahl Beauty Shop. She sold tickets and we raised $1,100 in two months. We're donating the money to the Maui Food Bank. The quilt top was donated to me by Mary Ellen Hokanson. I added the two borders and Lynette Harlan quilted it. Our group was so happy to help the fire victims. We're learning some quilting designs and still working on our Veterans quilts. Meetings are the first, third, and fifth Mondays each month. For info, call Jan Hamm at (951) 212- 6799 or Vivian Myrdahl at (626) 221-0872. Sun Lakes Quilters
