| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2024 | 33 The ICC Dinner/Dance will be held in the Thurs., June 13 at 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. There is always something new at Sun Lakes Country Club. As members of the ICC Dinner/Dance Club, we can have the ability to have dinner and dancing without leaving our home environment. We just go to the Clubhouse, enjoy the evening, and travel a few blocks home. Now, that's country club living. In addition to a great evening, we have been blessed to have a professional dance instructor here at Sun Lakes. Rene Riviera has begun free dance instructions monthly before the dinner dance for those interested in becoming more graceful with their dance movements or learning some new steps. Rene is such a great teacher. The doors open at 4:45 pm in the Ballroom, just prior to the dinner. Music and dance are such a great way of relaxing and having fun. There is a choice for the main dish the salads are pre-plated and the desserts always delicious. Sign-ups for the dinner and dance are held on the first Thursday of every month at the South Clubhouse beginning at 4 pm. Meal selection will be made when you sign-up. The three-course dinner price for members is $30 and $32 for guests. The doors open for the dinner/dance at 5:30 pm and the night of conversation, dinner, and dancing ends at 9 pm. The entertainment for the night is Sunset Purple. They play dinner music during our meal, romantic slow songs, fast songs, and line dancing. Come join the fun and meet new friends. Membership for 2024 is $25 per person per calendar year. A try-before-you-buy opportunity is available for Sun Lakes residents who have not been members in the past. Give yourself a gift, come join us for a night of fun, good food and relaxation. If you miss signing up, contact Donna Leone at (951) 797-0832 no later than the following Sunday afternoon. ICC Dinner Dance Club Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers Wishing all our Sun Lakes dads, Hau`oli La Makuakane! Makua Dancers have been showcasing their talents at various events. We enjoyed supporting the Sun Lakes Playhouse in their presentation of Nonsense. Makua dancers performed "The Prayer" and "Lahaina Luna" for the audience. We look forward to performing at district and family parties in June and July as well as the Fourth of July cart parade. Makua Dancers participated in the "Welcome Home" event for new Sun Lakes residents. May we continue to appreciate the beautiful community that Sun Lakes is. On June 14 we celebrate Flag Day. The holiday commemorates the date in 1777 when the United States approved the design for its first national flag. Long may she wave.
