Now that June gloom is over and mornings are going to be warm and sunny, there is no reason not to come join us and play some PICKLEBALL. We play Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 7:30 until 11. If you would like to play, make sure you have appropriate court shoes, but you don't have to bring a paddle. We have extras and will lend you one for the morning. It would be helpful if first you watched a couple of YouTube videos to get the basics. However, we are more than happy to help you learn the rules and the techniques needed to enjoy Pickleball. Always remember that no ball is worth the fall. We are competitive, but not fanatical and try not to injure ourselves while playing. Let me introduce you to one of our regular players, Kathy Mathews (pictured below). "Hello, I am Kathy Mathews. My husband George and I moved to Solera in August 2005. Elsinore was where we called home for 27 years. We enjoyed the country life. I worked in the building industry since 1974. I work with general contractors and developers of tract homes. I was involved in bidding their projects, supplying the materials, framing doors and windows. I was responsible for all the materials from the concrete slab up. I retired from Champion Lumber in Riverside after 20 years, in 2016. George and I also enjoy riding our bicycles with our community bike club the Chain Gang, three days a week. I am enjoying playing Pickleball here in Solera. I started last June. We play doubles and mix it up with other people. Come join us and make new friends and enjoy your neighbors." In case you can't make it in the mornings, often times on Tuesdays and Thursdays some of us occasionally get together and play at 5 PM, so if evenings work better for you, come join us. If you need more information, call or text Sandy Stearn at (717) 542-0481 or George Dietz at (614) 940–9506. Come join us and enjoy some sunshine and friendly people while getting some exercise.
