Hello everyone! If you're not a Solera Sipper, you're missing out!
So far this year, we've hosted a tribute to Jimmy Buffet (complete
with a never-ending margarita machine), played Bingo, enjoyed
our Membership dinner/dance, noshed at an Italian dinner/dance,
sipped at a wine tasting event and played a bocce ball tournament.
The bocce ball tournament was also our "free to members" event,
where we fed everyone for free with boxed dinners from Raisin'
Cane's Chicken.
We have lots more on tap for this year. This month we're hosting
a Sock Hop dinner/dance, which is sure to bring out the urge to do
the twist again (you must provide your own Tylenol however). In
August we'll be doing music trivia and September will bring out the
Bavarian in all of us with Oktoberfest.
You can find this schedule on the Solera OVG website under
"clubs and groups," then "Solera Sippers." There is a membership
application available here also.
We want to remind everyone that even though we are a wine
club, we have many members who either (A) don't drink wine or
(B) don't drink alcohol at all. First and foremost, we're a social club
who enjoy serious fun and fellowship.
Also, many of our members are singles … this is not a "couples
only" club. It never has been, never will be. All Solera residents are
welcome. The only requirement (besides living in Solera) is to be
prepared to have fun!

Wine fun fact: You need to drink seven glasses of orange juice
or 20 glasses of apple juice in order to get the same amount of
antioxidants as there is in wine.
