| LIFE IN SOLERA | JULY 2024 | 5 July is here, which means summer is in full force. Many residents take vacations, to hopefully cooler places, and other residents have friends and family who come here to visit. With this being said, it is important that we all understand the Community Rules regarding use of the Fitness Center and the Pool Area. • Fitness Center: Use of the community fitness center is limited to Residents only. • Pool and Spa: Use of the community pool is limited to residents and their guests. Each household may host a maximum of six guests at any given time. • The resident must always be present inside the fenced pool and spa area with their guests. Your guests must be at least 16 to use the spa. Swimming suits are required. • Incontinent persons, of any age, are not allowed in the pool or spa. Swim diapers of any kind or size, are not allowed to be worn in the pool or spa. • Guests under the age of 16 may only be in the pool and spa area between the times of 10 am and 2 pm. • There is no running, jumping, diving, loud music, or excessive splashing in or around the pool. Remember the residents are sharing the pool area during this time, and everyone should be able to enjoy their time here. Please read the rules posted in the pool area for all of the rules and remember there is no lifeguard on duty at any time. If you have guests who enjoy playing billiards, if they are at least 14 years old they may use the billiards tables. You must accompany them while playing. Please remember, our community rules are for the protection and safety of all residents in Solera and our common areas. We encourage guests to visit, while respecting our rules and properties. The Welcome Book contains a list of the community parks in Beaumont, which is from the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. And remember that we are a reading library focusing on current publications because of our limited space. If you have a lot of books in boxes you want to find homes for, the Beaumont Public Library has a program and volunteers to process and redistribute donations and a large Donation Bin in their parking lot. However I know that, like our library, they do not take Reference materials, outdated materials or multi-volume sets. Space is a problem for every library I have ever worked in. In Solera, we have one library volunteer who picks up donations of items that are duplicates or past our currency period. Large coffee table size books are a major problem because we have very limited space to display them in the library. The monitors help her put them in her car but she has to get them into the Beaumont donation bin. Remember BOOKS ARE HEAVY and the library volunteers are members of our 55+ community.
