18 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | JULY 2024 LISTEN - CARE - SHARE Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower, and draws all good things toward you. Allow your love to nourish yourself as well as others. Do not strain aer the needs of life. It is sufficient to be quietly alert and aware of them. In this way life proceeds more naturally and effortlessly. Life is here to enjoy! ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi KIND PEOPLE AREā¦ By Annette Hillis, Resident Vivian Bellini is one of those rare individuals who excel in a broad array of tasks and activities. She demonstrates an impressive ability to pivot between different roles with ease. Whether it be nurturing and caring for newborn babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), owning and running an antique business, building and remodeling homes, becoming a hairdresser, or just volunteering for a cause, Bellini brings her unique set of skills to the table as well as a positive can-do attitude that has proven to be invaluable both personally and professionally. Born in a small town near Manchester, England, Bellini moved to Canada when she was two-years old. Eventually, she made her way to California, and, of all places, Hollywood. She dreamed of becoming an actress, but it was not meant to be. Instead, she married someone in the business and had a grand time attending parties, movie sets, and hobnobbing with celebrities. Bellini's outgoing personality and friendly nature are well-known to residents of Solera Diamond Valley. She is or has been involved in many groups in our community since moving here in 2018. She has made many friends through her participation in the Library Group, Billiards, and through her attendance at events such as our Lounge Nights. Recently, her love of volunteering led her to help out at Temecula's Balloon and Wine Festival, which she enjoyed immensely. But she singles out one activity that has really stolen her heart. "My favorite hobby is the Quilt Club here in Solera. I used to sew clothing, but quilting has brought me so much more joy. I never knew what went into making a quilt. Now I know and can't quit! It is very addictive." She is proudest, however, of her career in the NICU. "I worked with the tiniest babies you can imagine. Some of these babies were under a pound. It was so rewarding to see these children as they became older. Some parents would bring back their babies to show us (the nurses) what miracles they had and praised us for taking such care." Bellini's goal during retirement was to travel extensively. She has a particular affinity for cruises. "I love cruising, visiting the Caribbean, and going up the California coast. I've been on a Baltics cruise with a singles group and to Tahiti on an Oceana cruise. Last year, my boyfriend, Tom, and I, visited Rio de Janeiro, went to Lisbon and then Barcelona. Recently, we took a 20-day cruise from Singapore to Dubai. We had so many great experiences - too many to list." At this point in her life, Bellini states that she is quite content. She is grateful that she doesn't have a host of health issues, most likely, she believes, because she exercises regularly. "I appreciate every day I have left on this earth and try to live life to the fullest. I would like to be remembered as being a kind, generous, and thoughtful human being."
