Changes may occur. A complete copy is available in the HOA Office. Burglaries in the Community: The Colony has experienced two recent burglaries: one on Via Compadres and one on Via Pamilla. Both residents were gone for an extended period of time. Allied Universal Security has increased community patrol and will turn on their vehicle light bar at night. Murrieta Police have also been patrolling the community. Residents are encouraged to take precautions. Residents can complete a Vacation Form, obtained at the Clubhouse Receptionist Desk or HOA Office, and Allied Universal Security will check on your home each shift while you are gone. Notify your neighbors you will be out of town and to contact authorities if they observe something suspicious. In case of an emergency, please call the Police and/or 911 first, then call the Main Gate Security. The HOA is limited on what they can do. We are a gated, but not a secure community. Homeowners can also consider installing cameras at their home. The Board is working with the HOA office to create a broader notification to make residents aware of break-ins and emergency situations. Fraudulent Conveyance Litigation, Recovery of Attorney Fees: HOA Legal Counsel will appear in court on May 29, 2024, to pursue $500,000 in attorney fees from the Fraudulent Conveyance litigation. Amending of Fraudulent Conveyance Documents: The HOA attempted to place a lien on the Huang's Diamond Bar property, and it was discovered they transferred the property to their son Andrew Huang's name. Legal Counsel will file an ex parte application to amend the judgment to add Andrew Huang as an alter ego of Majestic Asset Management, LLC, Jen Huang and Hai Huang. They will also move to void the transfer of the real property and to enjoin Jen Huang and Hai Huang from any further transfers of any real property during the duration of the litigation without a court order. Golf Course Update: Golf course revenue has been running between $75,000 and $85,000 in revenue per month for the last couple of months. They will be cutting slopes the week of June 3 through June 7. Near holes #6 and #7, the trees will be trimmed back for improved walking paths. Monthly Assessment Increase, May 1, 2024: Reminder: Effective May 1, 2024, the monthly assessments have increased to $333 per month. If you have not updated your Bill Pay with your personal bank, please do so. If you are on Auto-Debit with Professional Community Management, no action is required as it will automatically update to the new assessment amount. Call for Board Candidates, Deadline June 14, 2024: The application was published in the May e Colony News Magazine for homeowners who are interested in running for the Board. All applications must be emailed or mailed to The Inspectors of Election Office in Carlsbad, CA no later than 5 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024. A new law, called the "Federal Corporate Transparency Act," requires Board members to submit their personal information (i.e., legal name, home address, birth date, and identification, etc.) to the Federal government. Mayor Lori Stone, State of the City Address, June 11, 2024: Mayor Lori Stone and Executive Staff will give a State of the City Presentation 2024 from 10 am to noon in the Clubhouse Auditorium. Flag Day, June 14, Veterans Pinning Ceremony: There will be a Veterans Pinning Ceremony and a Continental breakfast in the Clubhouse Lounge. Colony Veterans will be honored and receive a certificate and pin for their service. Veterans in the community are encouraged to attend and register with the Activities Director, Kara Hardy. Aging Wisely Event, ursday, June 27, 10 am: The HOA will host a classroom event called Aging Wisely. The City of Murrieta will be educating residents on Trusts and Wills, Powers of Attorney, Long Term Care options, Home Care, Assisted Living and what documents you should provide to the HOA Office for a smooth transition for your family should you become incapacitated or pass away. City of Murrieta's 33rd Annual Birthday Bash, Saturday, June 29: The City will be hosting their 33rd Annual Birthday Bash between 2 and 9 pm at the California Oaks Sports Park. Fireworks will begin at 9 pm. Please note: Cal Oaks and Jackson Avenue will be closed all the way to Lincoln during the event. Approval of the March 2024 Treasurer's Report: Approved the unaudited March 2024 as presented. Total Operating and Reserve Liabilities and Equity: $5,324,000. May 2024 Golf Couse Subsidy Request: Approved subsidy in the amount of $23,774.
