Photos by Valorie Hillerich The Men's Golf Club Pancake Breakfast | THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2024 | 37 By Sam Currie A big thanks to all who attended our June Pancake Breakfast and again made it such a successful and fun event. Of course, the main reason for the breakfast (apart from providing those great pancakes and sausages) is to raise funds for our Murrieta High Schools Scholarships for those students in the golf programs. Students chosen for the Scholarship Awards have not only shown excellence at their sport but have shown academic prowess and achieved a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The awardees, along with their coaches, are invited to play a round of golf with the Men's Golf Club members. A lunch follows the round, and Scholarship Awards are presented by our Scholarship Chairman, Dennis Murphy. Let's not forget that providing that very enjoyable food was Randy Meyer and his volunteer team from the Men's Golf Club. Members worked in the kitchen and delivered the food to those hungry patrons! Many thanks to all the volunteers giving up their time to make this an enjoyable and worthwhile event. A special mention to Valorie Hillerich who stood in as our event photographer (thank you Valorie!) and also for the help provided by two local High School students, Izzy Corville and Carter Contreras.
