| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2024 | 39 If you have a classic car, love to ride or sit in one, talk about, or just look at one, you need to join our club! We have no membership fees or dues, and our meetings are once a month and very short. We begin at 9 am on the first Saturday of every month in the parking lot of the Main Clubhouse. We display our cars and talk shop, and at 9:30 we meet in the Multipurpose Room for a very short meeting. We announce car shows, discuss upcoming activities and events, and then go out together for breakfast. Men and women, husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, we welcome you all. We're all about fun and good fellowship, and we're looking for new members to share our good vibe. You don't even need to own a classic car. Come join us and expand your social life! Cruzin' Cronies Sun Lakes Follies Happy Fourth of July from the Follies! Here we are on the throws of summer … Hot days and warm nights. What a lovely time of year. This is the 25th Silver Anniversary of the Sun Lakes Follies. In the beginning of Sun Lakes, there was an entertainment show called e Talent Show. After about 10 years, the members changed the name to e Sun Lakes Follies. We have a lot of talented residents here in Sun Lakes and as the shows have progressed through the years you have seen some of them perform well into their 80s and 90s! Please make plans to attend. Our theme this year will be "Your Show of Shows" on Oct. 4, 5 and 6. Tickets will go on sale on Sat., Sept. 14 and will be on sale for the following three weeks. Remember, this is a dinner-theater setting with tables of eight. Get your tickets early for best sitting choices. So mark your calendars! Save the dates and remind your friends and family to do the same. A reminder to our members … please come to the general meeting on Thurs., July 18 at 1 pm in the North Clubhouse. This will be our last general meeting until after the shows. There will be a lot of information given out as to the practice times, rules, etc. for the stage rehearsals.
