| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2024 | 57
In May, the Tennis Club met on the patio of the South Clubhouse
for a pizza party (pictured above) that was preceded by a mixer held
on tennis courts #1-#3. Approximately 14 tennis players participated
in the Mixer. An additional number of Tennis Club members and
friends shared in the meal.
We, as Tennis Club members take the placement of our courts more
or less for granted. The courts are placed immediately adjacent to
the South Clubhouse and we can enjoy the convenience of the patio.
In the heat of summer, ceiling fans serve a patio diner's comfort.
In the cooler temperatures, propane heaters have been added to
the floorspace. One of those heaters was lit for our comfort on this
occasion.
Our social events are always open to guests and our courts are open
to all residents of Sun Lakes and to their guests, so long as posted
signage is observed. Club members are eager to assist novice tennis
players in order to include them in our social life, and in their skill
development. Novice players are invited to come to our drop-ins
where skills can be honed, and personal connections can be made.
Several of our skilled players are ready to offer basic lessons. For
further information on gaining skills and/or club participation
and membership, contact club President, Mark Vanderpool at
mvanderpool22@gmail.com.
