| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2024 | 5 Thank you to everyone who helped with, came to, and supported our Charity Weekend Summer Celebration events! It was a full weekend all planned to raise money for the Sun Lakes Charitable Trust and our Banning/Beaumont/Cherry Valley Pass area neighbors. Each year, we have an evening in the Ballroom where we invite all of the businesses we are awarding checks to come and let us know about them. Some of them count on our gifts each year and it is so rewarding to hear what important things we help them achieve. A little about the past few days: The Monster Scramble on Thursday, was a fantastic event and we thank all of the hole sponsors and the pros who were out to help those of us less skilled at the game of golf. "Nancy's Sunshine Diner Pancake Breakfast" on Friday was well attended as always – and though the Helicopter Drop went off a little later than expected due to foggy conditions at the airport, it was fun to watch and cheer on the winners, as always. "Karaoke Cowboy Happy Hour" went off without a hitch. Bob Palmer and Ray Roberson were fantastic KJ's and we heard and danced to many fabulous singers while enjoying grub by Chef Chris. Saturday, many enjoyed following the players on the back 9 of the Championship Course during the Pro-Am Shoot-Out. The afternoon entertainment by Walle Larrson was interspersed with the Reverse Raff le for a beautiful new golf cart. The lucky winners were Linda and Chad Chatman, who were thrilled to be the last ones standing. Wrapping up this fabulous long weekend was the Pro-Am Tournament followed by the Player's Lunch. Now we move on to September and our ever-fabulous Fashion Show. This year it will have a Pirate theme and is guaranteed to be a wonderful event! Also that weekend, Marilyn Knowles will be hosting the Putting Contest which is another Sun Lakes favorite. For more information about the 501c3s we support, visit our Facebook page - Sun Lakes Country Club Charitable Trust - and dedicated website - www.SunLakesCharity.org for additional event details.
