For residents who just want to watch, the carts will be turning right out of the Main Clubhouse this year, then right on Riviera, followed by a right back onto Country Club Dr., then into the Main Clubhouse parking lot. The opening ceremonies, award announcement and parade kickoff will all happen from inside the Main Clubhouse parking lot. For parade participants, application packets for the Golf Cart & Float Parade and Classic Cars are available now at Main Clubhouse reception desk. The theme for this year's celebration is "PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN." We will be offering ribbons and gift certificates to the Restaurant/Pro Shop for the following four winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, and the coveted Bill Mock Award. The deadline to register your cart is Mon., July 1. The schedule for the day is: • 9 am: Classic car viewing & Parade Judging, • 9:45 am: Opening Ceremonies • 9:50 am: Awards Announced • 10 am: Parade starts – turning RIGHT out of the Clubhouse • 11 am: Classic Car Display in parking lot and BBQ in the Ballroom on the Veranda • 11 am – 2 pm: Games and contests TBD Have a happy and safe Fourth everyone! F O J O ! H U U R L T Y F ! Fri., Aug 2, Main Clubhouse Ballroom. This event is first come, first served for ticket sales. $15pp (checks only), limited to four per household. Tickets are available for purchase now. Limited table seating for 210 and six per table. Times have changed, but have we? Do you still remember the first record you owned? How about sitting around the radio instead of the television? And EVERY night was a classic car cruise! Was it really that long ago? The nationally touring production of "Nostalgia" takes you down memory lane with your '57 Chevy as we remember the times and people who changed our lives in the 1950s, and 60s. Nationally touring stand-up comedian Randy Riggle will be your guide on a trip filled with songs and laughs in this 90-minute one-man show. Randy entertains his audiences with stories, gun slinging, dancing, and pantomime. His observational humor about the era is complimented with over 50 impersonations and a special tribute to veterans. The entire revue is backed with a multi-media slide presentation. Join us for an evening of nostalgic memories of a by-gone era. Comedy Night: Randy Riggle & The Nostalgia Show urs., July 11, 7 - 11 am, Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Sun Lakes is hosting a blood drive to support Lifestream Blood Bank. The blood donated goes to local hospitals in our area such as Beaver Medical, San Gorgonio, and Loma Linda. Our goal is to have 30 people to donate!
