40 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2024 | Karaoke Group Chorale The Chorale of Sun Lakes presented its 36th Annual Spring Concert Series in May, the culmination of an intense season of rehearsals and sectional practices that began in January. Practice for our 37th holiday season starts up again on Mon., Sept. 8. Consisting of more than 50 members, the Chorale is taking a well- deserved hiatus for the summer and looks forward to meeting new members at its summer picnic on Aug. 15 in the South Clubhouse. Interested residents are encouraged to come and meet us. More information will be in August's issue of Lifestyles. The Chorale of Sun Lakes is open to membership for any Sun Lakes resident. The Chorale has five sections: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses, and Baritones. Practice sessions are held on Mondays from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm. Prior to each concert, additional practices for individual sections are held. Sun Lakes Country Club has its own Barbershop Chorus that meets every Wednesday morning in the Multipurpose Room from 9 to 11 am. The sheet music and audio-learning materials are furnished to help even the novice enjoy the experience. You can sing in this men's chorus or enjoy a quartet experience with three other guys. We all have a song in our heart waiting to be expressed. Come visit us and sing along. Enjoy coffee and a donut at the break! Songs with red, white or blue is the theme for our Goodtimes Karaoke theme on Fri., July 26 with Barb Miller, Rosie Ingalls, and me, D.J. Blast. Our shows are scheduled for 5 pm at the South Clubhouse but because of the Sun Lakes club who reserves the room ahead of us and their inability to finish up their session in time for our set-up, we usually start around 6 pm.
