FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2024 7
The Banning Pointe Warehouse court hearing of March 15 resulted
in the judge advising that the bias claim filed by PAG (Pass Action
Group) was found in PAG's favor. They will file a Writ of Mandate
requesting the city of Banning review the project and deny its
approval. This is ongoing at this time.
The PAG has filed a Notice of Appeal on the areas that the judge
found against them. The appeal had been set by the court for June 11,
so at the time this article was written, no additional information was
available. The results of the appeal on those issues, such as the CEQA
issues, General Plan and the Specific Plan will be reported in our next
Breeze article in August of 2024.
The Beaumont Pointe Warehouse project has been reviewed
and approved by the Beaumont City Council. The city must annex
the area in which the warehouse, hotel, and recreation area will be
built. We have been told that this process will take approximately
six to nine months to complete. This annexation is important to the
developer in order to allow the warehouse project to utilize the city of
Beaumont's sewer system.
It is anticipated that the developer will be able to "start moving
dirt" by the end of 2025 and should take about 18 months. Then
the foundations for the hotel and the recreation area will proceed
before the warehouse is constructed as a result of the city council's
requirements on the approval of the project.
The Beaumont Planning Commission and city council have
listened to the residents of Beaumont during the various hearings on
this project. Although the warehouse project was approved, a number
of concessions were obtained where the information gathered came
from the residents who appeared at the sessions.
Thank you to the Four Seasons residents and the Board of
Directors' members who attended and spoke at the various hearings.
More information to follow. ~ Jerry Monahan, Board President
