FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2024 9 The British are coming! The British are coming! Fourth of July is coming too and we'll be rockin' out with the live band called "The British Invasion." We hope you'll be partying with us! Here's a run- down of the festivities for the Fourth: • First thing Fourth of July morning we have our annual golf cart parade; line up at 10 am at The Lodge. The competition judging will take place at 10:20 am and the parade takes off at 10:30 am. • Next, doors open at 11:30 am for our Community Picnic, Boutique Beer Bash, live band, and more! • Lunch will be served at 12 noon. We need your help and contribution for the picnic! The HOA will be providing the fried chicken, chips and snacks, as well as non-alcoholic drinks and paperware. We need you to bring salads, sides or desserts. Please sign up at The Lodge for what you are willing to contribute. • We'll also have a body painter and balloon artist to add even more fun, from 12 noon to 3 pm. • There will be a patriotic pool party in The Lodge pool and if you are interested in seeing fireworks, feel free to take your lawn chair up to The Summit. The fireworks typically start around 9 pm. I hope you can make it, it's going to be a blast! Friday, July 19 is a wonderful opportunity to hear some "Homegrown" bands of Four Seasons. One of the bands is called The Yucaipa Rose Band and the other one is called The Turtle River Band. They both offer some toe-tapping, easy-listening sounds for an entertaining musical evening. You're welcome to bring in your dinner and favorite beverages. The door opens at 5:30 pm and the music starts at 6 pm. There is no price for admittance. Sunday, July 21 is our next Amphitheater Concert. Check out Mark Lassen's nice article in this Breeze (page 45) telling more about the band and what fun we'll have with our tribute to Mardi Gras with the Alligator Beach Band. Be sure to wear Mardi Gras green, purple, or gold. It's okay if you can't find anything to wear — we'll dress you up with some beads. If you have some parasols, feel free to bring those. Don't forget you're now allowed to set your chairs up the night before the concert at 6 pm. I'll see ya down at the Amphitheater; concert starts at 7 pm! How about a little tropical treat, with the popular Twilight Palms Steel Drum Band? We had so many requests to have them back after last year's successful dance concert and we were excited to hear they would be available for our event. Stacey from the Kopper Kettle is doing the catering and at the time of this writing, she's having fun coming up with a tropical menu to accompany our dance. Stay tuned for further info on the dinner menu and prices. We will most likely be offering pre-sale discounts for dinner and then regular priced dinners at the door. Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 27 at 5:30 pm. There is no fee to attend but there is a charge for food. Happy July! It's going to be tons of summer fun! ~ Cindy Graves Activities Director's Report
