32 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2024 | Strength training is incredibly beneficial for women over 60. It helps maintain muscle mass, bone density, balance, and overall well- being. Here's what you need to know: Can a Woman Build Muscle Aer 60? • Absolutely! While age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia) is real, it's not irreversible. Strength training can help you gain muscle mass even in your golden years. • The right combination of strength training and holistic health can make a significant difference. Why Strength Training is Important for Older Adults: • Maintain Bone Density: Women are susceptible to bone loss after age 30. Strength training exposes your bones to mechanical load, helping maintain or increase bone mass and density. SASY is strength training only. There are 15 exercises for arms, legs and torso. The class is free. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 am in The Lodge Ballroom. We are a fun social group. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at (951) 765-7112 or Char Weakley at (951) 926-2599.
