| LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2024 | 37 HIGH NOTES FROM KARAOKE Songs with suggestive lyrics have been around long before the age of rock 'n' roll. Some very early songs were novelty songs like Shaving Cream, My Fanny, and Bessie Smith's Put A Little Sugar In My Bowl, which was recorded in 1931. Many of the rhythm and blues songs of the early 1950s were considered too suggestive for most pop music radio stations but played on R&B (Black radio stations). Here's some of these steamy songs of the Rock Era. Whatever kind of songs you enjoy singing or listening to, chances are you'll find them at our Goodtimes Karaoke with Rosie Ingalls. Barb Miller & D.J.
