44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2024 Wow, the dog days of summer are upon us. Our class has been "heating up" with the many distinctive styles of dance we are learning. Some of our previous dances we have taken up this year include Rumba, Cha Cha, West Coast Swing, and Salsa. So, if you want to add some skillful moves, impress your friends and neighbors with your amazing footwork, dance the night away at a club, or dazzle the crowd on a cruise ship, come join us on Mondays from 6 to 8 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. The first half hour is for practice and review with the lesson starting at 6:30 pm in the very capable hands of our professional instructor, Cindy Finley. This is not just for couples as we have solo dancers who pair up with other solo dancers. Having fun is one of the "requirements" for coming to our band of happy hoofers. We look forward to seeing you on Monday nights! For more information, contact Tom Olsen at (510) 866-7813 or email cnj2401@msn.com. ~ Tom Olsen Let's Dance! Each month we focus on a certain theme of music. This helps us continue to grow. The song theme for the month of June was country and everyone really participated in a fun way with their hats and boots! July focused on folk songs. August is really going to be fun as we are going to have music and karaoke out at The Lodge pool with the theme of Hot August Nights and songs about summer. Karaoke start time has changed from 5:30 to 5 pm so we can get more singing time. Karaoke is held every first Tuesday and third Saturday of each month in the Ballroom. Tuesday is a great night to come out and practice your songs for the big show night which is on the Saturday nights. Many people just come out with a bottle of wine and enjoy the show. You don't have to sing, just get off of the couch and let your neighbors entertain you! Any questions call Dave at (909) 712-2292. ~ Dave Rohrbacker, Dave.Rohrbacker@icloud.com Karaoke Step back in time and groove to the classic beats at the Old School Dance & Activity Club! This club brings a nostalgia-packed evening filled with music, movement, and memories from days when we were young — from Frankie Avalon's Venus to rock 'n' roll with Mick Jagger! Join us on the fourth Thursday of every month from 3 to 5 pm in The Lodge Ballroom and let the good times roll. We will also educate you on the history of those old-school songs we all know and love. It's not only about dancing, it's about understanding the roots and stories behind the music that shaped an entire generation.
