FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2024 9 It's August and one of the biggest activities this month (not necessarily the most fun) is the carpet renovations in the Bistro and most rooms in The Lodge. The Ballroom won't be completed until next month, however, if you haven't noticed, the restrooms next to the Ballroom and throughout The Lodge, RCN, and Spa Building have all been outfitted with brand new taller toilets. Now that's something your knees will be thankful for! Now for the actual fun activities. The first fun night on Friday, Aug. 9 will be the Gail's Game, "Match Game!" Be sure to come on down early to hear the smooth sounds of the Smooth Combo band. They will be starting the night out in the Ballroom at 4:30 pm with the Gail Games starting at 6 pm. There may be a food option, but as of this writing, we're still unsure. Watch the Activities Blast for more breaking news. Everyone has a blast playing against the various tables in the room and Gail always has some sort of prize for the winners. What a fun way to get to know your neighbors! Aug. 10 at 5:30 pm is our next Loggia Dance Concert starring the incredible sounds of Winslow, a popular country rock band. We will be having Stacy come back to offer a country menu and as soon as she has the dinner determined, we'll get the news out to you. Doors open and dinner starts at 5 pm. There will be no tickets required to come to the event, however, we will have tickets for pre-sale dinner; again, we'll get that info out to you asap. Karaoke is Aug. 17 this month. Dave is going to be having monthly themes, which should be a lot of fun so stay tuned to the Activities Blast and viewer-boards in The Lodge to read all about it. They are also going to be starting earlier now, at 5 pm, so you can be sure to get all the time you need to sing your heart out! Karaoke will be in the Ballroom as usual. Hooray! Aug. 18 is our next Amphitheater concert with Mick Jagger! Well, it'll be the closest to Mick Jagger I'll ever get. Don't miss our version of the Rolling Stones with this fabulous tribute band, Jumpin' Jack Flash. If you like the Stones, you'll love this! Mark has more details in his Amphitheater article, so that'll be fun to read. Bring cash for a quick and yummy dinner of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers starting at 5:30 pm. The concert starts at 7 pm and I look forward to seeing you there! The Performing Arts Club will be presenting another one of their nostalgic and entertaining Radio Shows on Saturday, Aug. 24 in the Ballroom. The two shows are called, Gunsmoke, "Chester's Dilemma," and the second feature is called Burns and Allen, "Gracie Runs for President." The doors will open at 5:30 pm and the show will start at 6 pm. Make sure you read the PAC article in this Breeze issue for all the details about the show. You'll be amazed at the talent of your neighbors in this show! ~ Cindy Graves Activities Director's Report
