8 | THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2024 | Chuck Gordon By the time you read this, I will have almost completed one full term on the HOA Board as your treasurer. It is my sincerest hope that I was able to earn your trust in my abilities to perform my duties in a capable manner. As your Board treasurer, I aspired to bring a positive attitude, along with my time, energy and experience to produce a comprehensive level of financial reporting. If reelected, I will continue to endeavor to be fair and objective on behalf of all 1,586 homes. I continue to stand by the principle that our community is best served by people with positive attitudes and who conduct the affairs of the community with honesty and integrity. I want to thank everyone in advance who supported me and gave me the opportunity to serve on the Board during the past two years. If I am fortunate to have earned your continued support, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you once again. I promise to do my best and I recognize that there is always room for improvement. EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science Degree, Business Administration, Finance, California State University Northridge PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Worked 38 years in the motion picture industry in various accounting and audit related positions. Last 27 years at the Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans ("the Plans") where I finished my career as manager of the Audit & Collections Department. I was responsible for overseeing a $100 million audit program, to ensure the major studios and hundreds of other industry production companies were compliant in the reporting of employee benefits to the trust funds. I later returned to the Plans as a consultant post retirement. COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION EXPERIENCE: Currently serving on our HOA board as the appointed treasurer. Previously served on an HOA board at a much smaller community. Since moving to The Colony in 2015, I have experience in the following clubs: Emergency Preparedness Committee: Served as a Block Captain, Area Coordinator and and Search and Rescue team. e Colony Players eatre Group: Previously served on its board. Colony Racquet Club: Previously served as the club treasurer. e Colony Actors Studio: Currently serving as the club treasurer. e Colony Recreational Committee: Previously served on its board. e Finance Advisory Committee: I have been on this committee since February 2018.
