Colony News Bits don't miss a thing! By Virginia Incorvia Have you seen the signs or heard from friends that they have had a Meet Your Street get-together? Let us assist you. Call or text Virginia Incorvia at 619-992-8979 for a packet of goods and ideas to get you started. Meet Your Street is a Colony Sunshine Program that allows neighbors to meet neighbors. A Suggestion Box is located in the Clubhouse Lobby for use by residents who have ideas for improvements within The Colony. These suggestions are collected on a weekly basis by HOA staff and submitted to the Board of Directors for their review and consideration. It is very important to include your name if you are asking a question or asking for some type of assistance, in case a follow-up, or clarification, is required. Colony Suggestion Box Thank you for answering my request over the past weeks for gently used ball gowns, tuxedos, fancy formal accessories (purses, cummerbunds, dressy shoes, etc.) in preparation for the Marine Corps Birthday Balls held throughout the Base at Camp Pendleton on Nov. 10. The gowns and tuxes are offered free at an open house sponsored by the Camp Pendleton YMCA for the Marine spouses who cannot afford to purchase a tux or ball gown for these special events. Even after being away for a few weeks, I returned to multiple calls so the trips to Pendleton continue with your beautiful finery. I will continue to collect your donations at your home and deliver the items to Camp Pendleton where the "Y" has set up a showroom for their display and distribution. Because the word is out about the Pendleton gown give-away, Marine Corps Bases Twentynine Palms and Yuma will also be receiving gowns from this event. This is a 501c3 project, and I can provide you with a thank you letter. The Y stands firm about the last delivery. Their cut-off date for the collection is Sept. 1. This gives them time to set up the showroom for the clothes selection process, which usually takes place during the second week of September. So, my last day to pick up and accept your donation will be Wednesday, Aug. 28. Thank you for your continued support. Please call me at the above number to book your pickup date.
