16 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2024 | Southern California is now in the fire season. Securitas has taken some proactive measures to enhance Sun Lakes' fire preparedness. They have conducted risk assessments, provided specialized training to personnel, and engaged in community education on fire safety. In addition, there has been strong coordination with local fire services to prepare for quick and effective response in case of emergency. Many areas of Sun Lakes recently experienced a power outage, lasting several hours. When this occurs, our EPAP teams spring into action to provide assistance to those in need. EPAP team coordinators have lists of names and addresses of those who are dependent on electricity for medical aid. If phone service is available, we recommend that those in need call the EPAP emergency line at (951) 524-3126. Our security department has seen a significant increase in suspicious activity by individuals outside Sun Lake's walls. Residents have been very good at contacting security when suspicious activity is observed and Mike Romero and his team have been very good at responding to calls. Remember to first contact Banning PD, then call security here if you see something suspicious. Pool monitors from Securitas have been engaging with residents and guests at the Main Clubhouse pool and enforcing SLCC rules and regulations. They have at times encountered a few residents and guests not complying with regulations, such as: 1. Bringing outside alcohol 2. Bringing infants wearing diapers in the pool 3. Using large inf latables The pool monitor will make sure that all rules and regs are followed or the resident will be asked to leave the pool area. We ask everyone to drive safely and observe all speed limits and stop signs. If you see something, say something. Keep your garage doors closed!
