| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2024 | 63 Women's Golf The Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club is an 18-hole club that plays every Thursday on the Championship Course. Our membership is open to any woman golfer who lives in Sun Lakes and includes golfers of all ages and abilities. What we all share is the love of golf and having fun with our "golf sisters." CONGRATULATIONS to our 2024 Club Champion, Jane Lee. This is her third year in a row taking this title. The f light champions are "A" f light - Kimberley Kim, "B" f light - Joan Glenn, "C" f light - Leora Pursel. Congratulations to all! August brings one of our most loved events, the Sweepstakes Tournament. This is on Thurs., Aug. 22, and kicks off on Wednesday with an afternoon Horse Race followed by a pairings party. Ladies Executive Golf LEGS Volunteers for Charity Week Events The Ladies Executive Golf Club participated in two events during our recent Charity Week events. During the Monster Scramble, our club sponsored Hole #3 on the Executive Golf Course and our volunteers decorated the tee in a western theme whereby all participants had two chances to hit the ball into the hole using a wooden hobby horse. It was challenging but fun and they were rewarded for their efforts with a nice cold refreshing mint julep and See's candy. Since it was a hot day, the cold beverage was a welcome relief. It was nice to see so many of our members participating in the tournament. At our second event, our volunteers helped to check-in all the golfers who participated in the Pro-Am golf tournament. After tournament play began, the volunteers gathered in the Ballroom to assemble the golf-themed table centerpieces, which made the Ballroom look very festive for the luncheon. Our volunteers spent a pleasant morning helping out and it was a very enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We look forward to volunteering at next year's Charity Week events again. We were invited to participate in a tournament with the Executive Men's Golf Club last month with a Hawaiian theme followed by a luncheon at the North Clubhouse. It was fun to break tradition by wearing Hawaiian-themed clothes and accessories and having the Clubhouse decorated in a Hawaiian theme. What a nice way to spend the morning and have fun. We invite you to come out and play a round of golf with our fun- loving ladies. Our dues are $25 yearly but if you're only interested in attending our monthly lunch meeting and social events, you can join as an Associate Member for $10 per year.
