14 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2024 | The Golf Advisory Committee consists of nine members: one representative from each of the three Championship Course clubs (Women's Golf Club, Lady Niners, Men's Golf Club), three Executive Course clubs (Ladies Executive Golf Club, Executive Men's Golf Club, and Saturday Morning Golf Group), and three At-Large members. The six golf club representatives are chosen by their individual clubs and granted the authority to make decisions on behalf of their membership. The three at large members are chosen from volunteers who are interested in the maintenance of the golf courses and preserving the value of these community assets. The open spaces and beauty of the landscaping provided by a well- manicured golf course provides value to all homeowners. This is why the Master Board encourages any resident homeowner invested in Sun Lakes to serve as an At-Large member. The appointment to the GAC is for two years and we welcome applications for the 2025-2026 term. If you are interested in being an At Large member please fill out a Volunteer Interest Form available in the Main Clubhouse Lobby, Administration, or the Sun Lakes website. The GAC recommends new At-Large members in October and submit them to the Master Board for approval. Golf Advisory Sun Lakes Committee Reports Lifestyles Magazine is the resource most residents turn to in order to find out what's going on in our community. At 80 pages, it includes pictures from residents plus articles from the Board, Delegate Assembly, FirstService, Recreation, Food & Beverage, the Pro Shop, and advisory committees. Clubs and groups send articles and photos about their activities to Sunlakesnews@yahoo.com by the sixth of each month. The LAC meets on the sevent of each month, unless otherwise specified, to review and edit the articles submitted for each month's issue of the magazine. We meet with Master Board liaison Beverly Simmons, Assistant General Manager Jason Ewals, and Recreation Manager Linda Vang to keep updated about events coming up in our community. We also publish want ads and for-sale items from residents at no cost and hide a monthly joke for residents to find. Responses to our "Get the Joke" contest are put in a hat and a winner is randomly drawn, earning a restaurant gift card as a prize. Photographs taken by residents of areas within Sun Lakes are used on the magazine cover. If you're good at proofreading and are interested in joining us, please fill out a volunteer application form that you can get in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. Lifestyles Advisory
