The Tennis Club's highlight for the month of August will be an
evening event beginning with a Mixed Doubles Mixer, Mon., Aug.
19, starting at 5 pm. All skill levels will be included in a round
robin format where the whole point is to have fun with both new
and familiar players. As for all of our Mixers, there is no charge.
Tennis balls are provided. Make sure you bring your own supply
of water. Following the Mixer (6:15 pm), pork barbecue sliders will
be served on the South Clubhouse patio. Guests are welcome ($5
members/$10 guests). Please register and pay in advance.
On Aug. 3, as is our custom on the first Saturday of the month,
a Mixed Doubles Mixer will be held beginning with a Skills Clinic
starting at 8 am. All Sun Lakers are welcome to take part. Then, on
Mon., Aug. 12, our Skills Clinic for intermediate level players will
be held at 6 pm. A limit of 12 participants are invited to register in
advance ($2 for members/$5 for non-members).
Furthermore, a preview of September highlights for our Tennis
Club. First, on Sunday evening, Sept. 15, we will host our fall season
Quarterly Meeting, and a festive western-themed dinner dance
at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome. Second, the last
weekend of September (Sept. 27-29) will feature our annual Mixed
Doubles Tournament. Last year's tournament winners, Pat Carter
and Joy Baily, and the runners-up, Michelle Carter and Jim Ball, are
pictured at right. For additional information about membership
