Karen Keating, a resident of Placentia, formerly of Sun Lakes, passed away on June 14, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Charles City, Iowa, Karen brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. Karen had a zest for life and a love for travel, enjoying cruises and trips across the United States. She was an avid Lakers fan and found immense joy in spending time with her extended family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her kindness, caring nature, and infectious joy, Karen was always willing to help others and was an exceptional hostess at gatherings for family and friends. Her family was her greatest passion, and she cherished every moment with them. Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Richard; her loving children, Christine Hills (Gary) and Eric Keating (Melissa); her sister, Sheila Fisher; her sister-in-law, Kay Swenson (Jerry); and her brother-in-law, David Keating (Pam). She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Ryan, Jenelle (Cody), Taylr (Cole), Trae (Karissa), and Tanner; and her four great-grandchildren, Jack, Aiden, Aurora, and Hawkins, with a fifth great-granddaughter due in November. Services were held at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Karen's memory. Karen's life was a testament to the love and joy she brought to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and fondness.
