I hope the summertime is treating you well! Whether you're planning social gatherings or just walking and embracing the beautiful sun, these cheerful experiences will be everlasting memories for this year and for years to come! For those who attended the open session in person or via Zoom, I'll reiterate one of the messages — the importance of reporting wildlife animals. As I stated, neither my officers nor the maintenance department are trained to handle wild animals (coyotes or mountain lions) or hazardous pests. In this instance, the most common call is rattlesnakes. If you notice a rattlesnake, please call the Fire Department immediately; they are trained to handle and remove the snake. Community patrol should be called secondary, or we will respond to the pulse point alarm and guide pedestrians around the area for safety until the Fire department arrives. This is also a friendly reminder for the bicyclists in our community to please stop at the stop signs and be aware of your surroundings. I've received some emails of close calls, and I personally think no one wants to be hit by a car. It is a shared road, and we should respect each other. If you want the faster vehicles to pass, move over to the right as much as possible. Thank you to those adhering to the rules and keeping our community safe! In addition for safety concerns, all residents entering through the back gate should enter slowly; the gate arms close automatically. Cars are faster than the gate arms sensor, so by the time it registers that a car is arriving, it might be too late. So always enter with caution! Thank you, OHCC residents, for your vital role in our community. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the rules. We are committed to serving you and the community; your feedback is invaluable. If you have any concerns or suggestions that you would like to see addressed in a future issue of Living magazine, we encourage you to share them. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone. My office at the front gate is always open for Ocean Hills Country Club residents.
