| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2024 | 23 We started our June meeting talking about our "Picnic & Cornhole" event we had on June 21. Our plan was to have a lovely outside picnic at the shaded tables over by the BBQ area here at FS and then challenge ourselves to a game of Cornhole. But, can you believe it, the weather was in the triple digits that day. It was the first day of the beginning of Hemet's "Heat Wave." Thank goodness we did think ahead with the possibility of a very hot day and had a back up plan. Tracie Rogers reserved the Game Room for us and our "Outside Picnic" became an "Indoor Picnic" without any problem. We had croissant sandwiches, potato salad, macaroni salad, chips and cupcakes … yummy. Nancy Wisniewski and Patsy Racine set up the Cornhole Boards and gave us the "Ladies Club Rules." With it being such a hot day, they set the boards in the shade, and, so we didn't come home with sore arms they shortened the distance between the boards too. It turns out we have some pretty good players. Afterwards, we went back into the Game Room and had some ladies' time enjoying eachother's friendship. What a FUN DAY. I won't mention her name but, one of the ladies insisted on calling it "Cornball" instead of "Cornhole." LOL! At our monthly meeting, our Cheerleader Annie Ward asked us to share the name of a favorite dessert recipe you love to make. We all shared lots of delicious desserts, and after sharing, she asked us to bring a copy of the recipe to our next meeting, as she's going to create a Ladies Club Dessert Recipe Book for us to have. What a treasure that will be for all of us. Arlene Marton shared a baking tidbit with us, "Never open the oven door when baking a cheesecake or cake as it will make the cake sink or collapse." What a wonderful group of ladies we have. You are invited: Mark your calendars for Mon., Sept. 23 at 1:30 pm. The Ladies Club is inviting all Four Season Ladies to come to our "Ladies Club Open House." We are still in the planning stages of day but it is always a fun day. Come make new friends and enjoy the day with our wonderful ladies. We meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 1:30 pm in the Ballroom. You can text Julie Rodriguez at (951) 821- 1970 for more information Our motto: Having fun, being positive, staying energized and giving back to the community. FS Ladies Club
