Well, I guess this heat isn't going to let up anytime soon. Hopefully everyone is staying cool or going to our beautiful pools. Upcoming Events Sept. 20: YOUNG AT HEART IS EXCITED TO PRESENT GET DOWN 'N BOOGIE! A 60s and 70s theme night featuring our favorite band, MLC, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. This event is open to all residents and their guests. Contact person is Michele Walter at (951) 202-8009; 4713 Skyview Circle. Cost: Member price is $25 per person. Non-member price $30 per person. If you would like to sit together, please submit all checks at the same time (only eight to a table). We will have a taco bar which is included in your price. Dress in your favorite 60s or 70s outfit. I'm sure you all still have something laying around, that will work! Doors open at 5 pm for cocktails and food. Music starts at 6:30 pm. Oct. 20: Fabulous Fall Foursome Golf Tournament on the Executive Course. Check in is at 1:30 pm and shot gun start is at 2 pm. Cost $20 for golfers, includes dinner (North Clubhouse) and prize money; $15 for non-golfers (dinner). If you're not an annual golf member, green fees to be paid to Pro Shop. Orange ball scramble, three clubs & a putter. You may pick your foursome; however, must have one women on your team. A flyer will be sent out soon for sign ups! Nov. 8: Wine Tasting (South Clubhouse), first come first served. The maximum will be 40 members. There will be pairings for each wine. Cost is $45 per person. December: Attend Palm Springs Festival of Lights as a group and dinner afterwards. Our get-togethers will afford the opportunity to mix and mingle with our interesting neighbors in a forum that fosters expansion of our understanding of the many aspects of African heritage and the subsequent connections.
