Paisano Wine Club The Sun Lakes Wine Club is growing rapidly; our last two events both sold out and also had a wait list! On Sept. 13 we will be enjoying a catered Italian Wine Dinner. There will be spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken fettucine alfredo, salad, garlic bread, and tiramusi, as well as six bottles of wines from Italy on every table of eight people. "Mangiamo!" If not signed up already but interested in attending, please contact Steve at (951) 217-7225 to see if we still have seats available. To add to the festivities wear your favorite Italian designer clothes, dress like a pizza maker or a gondolier, or wear the colors of the Italian flag - red, green and white. The wine club does six events a year. We try to learn a bit, taste a lot, and also have a good time. In the last year the club has had a white wine blind tasting, a red wine blind tasting, a food and wine pairing, and a cheese and wine pairing. Our last event of the year will be a plated dinner on Sat. Nov. 16 in the Main Clubhouse. More info to follow as plans are made. Dues are just $10 a year. What will 2025 bring? Do you prefer your wine to barrel fermented or fermented in stainless steel tanks? Do you prefer fruit forward wines or bold rich wines? As we taste new wines we learn what agrees with our palate. What one likes today, may change in the future. Chilled white wines are refreshing in the heat of the summer while sipping a port wine by a fireplace in the winter can be very enjoyable. Have you ever had a green wine from Portugal? The wine industry has a rich and fascinating history that continues to evolve. Every grape, every vineyard, every winemaker is able to render something so completely different. Wine is the most underrated and under appreciated form of art; in every glass there is a story. "A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world." ~ Louis Pasteur YAPPY HOUR IS BACK! Our charity dinner and auction benefits the EPAP Dog Rescue and The Dog Owner's Group.
