62 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2024 | I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sure done with the 100 degree Banning weather and looking forward to cooler temps and camping again. An RV Club BBQ was held on July 30 for all members. Although a number of members were enjoying cooler temperatures along the northern coast, we still had 65 members participate. The evening was spent socializing and catching up with friends, enjoying the BBQ, and talking about the upcoming trips for the rest of 2024 and into 2025. Oct. 13 will be our Annual Business Meeting and pizza party at the South Clubhouse. Dec. 8 will be our Annual Christmas Party also at the South Clubhouse. A list of upcoming trips include: Sept. 29 to Oct. 4, the club will be going to Distant Drums in Camp Verde, AZ. There are a lot of activities in that area, and if you haven't been to Sedona, we encourage you to visit there and enjoy the beautiful Red Rock, gorgeous scenery and Indian heritage. Distant Drums Resort number is (928) 554-8000. Be sure to mention that you are with the Sun Lakes RV Club, so they can put you with our group. March 2025, will be our annual trip to Fortuna De Oro, Yuma, AZ. We're waiting to find out when the annual party for the snowbirds is planned so we can schedule our trip. If you are going to book for a month, they will take your reservation now. If you're going for a week or two, they will not make reservations until after Labor Day. The resort number is (928) 342-5051; ask for Chelsea. Dates and more information will be shared soon. May 4 - 9, 2025 will be our trip to Wine Country RV Park in Paso Robles. Dan and Lupe Cardella will be our trail bosses, and are looking for volunteers for the planning committee. More information to come. Sept. 28 - Oct. 3, 2025 will be our trip to Jackson Rancheria in Jackson, CA. Trail bosses are Leon and Harriet Fikse. They also will be looking for volunteers to be on the planning committee. More information will be shared soon.
