| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2024 | 21 Needle Me This month's article features one of our members, Lynda Harlow. Lynda is a person who loves traditions! Fortunately, her family has embraced many of the traditions she has introduced. Early on, she started making quilts and crocheted blankets for each of the babies born in her churches. In addition, she crocheted blankets for the babies of her many nieces and nephews. When Lynda and her husband became grandparents, she crocheted blankets for each of their grandchildren, which eventually numbered 21. Now that those grandchildren are getting married, she crochets full-sized afghans for each one's wedding. And now, the number of great-grandbabies is growing. So far she has made 15 baby afghans for great-grandchildren, and there promises to be many more to come. During COVID, she made over 30 blankets for Birth Choice. Presently she is crocheting donations for Hospice, a program introduced by another member of our Needle Me group. Lynda loves that she will never lack for people and places that will welcome the works of her hands! Needle Me meets on the first and fourth Friday of each month in the Arts & Crafts Room at 1 pm. Feel free to stop by to see what Lynda and the other ladies are working on, everyone is welcome. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Merilyn Burnside at (323) 889-4281. For those who are interested, there is a Yarn Crawl in San Diego for four days, Sept. 26-29, 2024. Then there is a Southern California Fiber Fair at the Pomona Fairgrounds, Nov. 23 – 24, 2024.
