Watch for the weekly email blast and then read the Herald for more updated information. Enough of this hot, sultry weather. If you are like me, I had enough of the unusual heat waves of July and August. I am looking forward to the fall season marked by the month of September. From many respects, it is a transitional time. The "Boys of Summer" MLB season ends in late September when the real baseball begins with the playoffs working into the World Series. NCAA football commences on the first week of September and as do many tailgates and rivalries kicked off with College Game Day on Aug. 31 (close enough to September). NFL Football regular season starts with AFC rematch of the Kansas City Swifties lining up against the Baltimore Ravens. Equal times of daylight and night are marked by the Autumn Equinox on Sept. 21. And, we celebrate this posting with the German tradition of Oktoberfest. I may not be German but there were plenty of Oktoberfest festivals in Hawaii. So, I raise my mug of beer and toast the passing of summer and welcome the cooling (hopefully) fall season. Prost! Coming soon: (Aug. 29) Movies on the Plaza: Knives Out, (Sept. 4, 11, 18, 25) Wednesday Bingo Nights, (Sept. 6) First Friday TGIF - Karaoke, (Sept. 8) Sunday Brunch, (Sept. 14) Mockarita Ville, (Sept. 17) Music on the Plaza: Idlewild South Band, (Aug. 25) Open Session Board Meeting.
