FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2024 39 Tails & Trails - All Pets IMPORTANT REMINDER ALL FOUR SEASONS PET OWNERS! Are you aware that between the Four Seasons, Sun Lakes, and Seneca Springs communities, 33 pets have been killed by coyotes and bobcats? At least that is the number that has been reported to the Four Seasons Tails and Trails group. So the number is probably larger. These wild animals inhabit the areas surrounding us and they are extremely comfortable coming into our community. They can scale the highest fence, are able to leap on to roof tops, and are not afraid of humans. These animals frequent the trails in Four Seasons seeking food sources. Walking your pet off-leash here is dangerous. Coyotes have been known to grab and run away with small dogs within seconds. Also, if you are using a retractable leash while walking your dog, this may prevent you from having control of your pet should a wild animal appear. Using a doggie door in your home can also lead to tragic circumstances. If you allow a small pet to go in and out of the house freely without supervision, they may fall prey to a predatory coyote or bobcat. Many pets killed at Four Seasons were taken from their own yards. We cannot stress this strongly enough — no pet should ever be left unattended in the yard. If your pet is lost or missing, you should contact the Four Seasons Tails and Trails group immediately at (951) 663-7012. We have a Recovery Team set up to assist all residents and we have been successful in reuniting lost pets with their owners. In addition, you should contact The Lodge staff and let them know your pet is missing. Their phone number is (951) 769-6358. Please be vigilant in taking care of your pets and preventing them serious harm. ~ Vivian Walker, vivr@sbcglobal.net Seasoned Singles In spite of the heat, the Singles ventured out and participated in some great outings in July. In addition to attending the San Bernardino Symphony's annual "America the Beautiful" outdoor concert, we took tours of Tournament House (home of the Tournament of Roses Parade) and the Valley Relics Museum. Both were fantastic. In late July, we treated ourselves to a birthday lunch at Steer 'N Stein and that rounded out our activities for the month. If you're single and would like to join us for outings like these, we meet on the first Friday of the month at 6 pm in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. For more information, please contact Monica Sarafian at (626) 862-8215. ~ Phyllis Kates Some of the Seasoned Singles attended the San Bernardino Symphony's annual "America the Beautiful" outdoor concert.
