FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2024 27 Facilities Committee September, the onset of the fall season, marks a period of relentless activity for the Facilities Committee. We are currently reviewing numerous projects, ensuring that our community is well- prepared for the upcoming winter season. Carpet has been installed in The Lodge, including the Billiards Room, Bistro, Library, Game Room, and Theater. Carpet in the Ballroom and RCN will be installed in September. Facilities has submitted its Capital Budget items for 2025. We presented our recommendations to the Board in late August. As the Chair, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our diligent Facility Committee members. Their unwavering commitment, from conducting walkabouts around the community to enduring lengthy meetings, is commendable. Their dedication to their responsibilities is a testament to their professionalism and love for our community. Steve Margulieux (photo inset) is in the Facilities spotlight for September. Steve has been a member of the committee for more than two years. He signed up to volunteer wherever needed. Before retiring, Steve worked for Raytheon Defense Systems in Dallas, Texas, as a member of the Technical Staff. Steve spent 30+ years developing various products for military radar systems. He has a Master's Degree in Image Processing. Steve and his wife, Sharon, moved from Texas to Crestline, where he retired and pursued one of his bucket list items, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from border to border. He made it as far as Lassen National Park before he decided he'd experienced enough deserts and mountains and, with 1,500 miles under his belt, called it good. Steve and his wife, Sharon, made the decision to move to Four Seasons when they realized that aging in a mountain house would pose challenges. However, they were not ready to give up the scenic mountain views they loved. Their search for a new home led them to our vibrant community, where they were captivated by our active lifestyle and breathtaking mountain views. Steve and Sharon love spending time with their wonderful families, which include a son in Los Angeles, a daughter in Atlanta, and their grandchildren. You may have seen Steve and their giant Schnauzer Riley walking around Four Seasons Circle daily. We thank Steve for his hard work and dedication. All homeowners are welcome to attend a Facilities meeting; we meet the second Wednesday of every month in the RCN Conference Room. Customer focused, she was voted Florist of the Year, 10 years running. Volunteering in her last community, Tanya was a Rotarian in the Fort Yuma Rotary Club for 15 years. Among the many projects she was involved in, she is most proud of coordinating the spay and neuter clinic. After her retirement, she turned her attention to the Yuma Humane Society as a volunteer, spearheading the decorating committee for the annual fundraiser. Additionally, Tanya led the charge on shutting down a puppy mill in Yuma County saving 128 dachshunds. She was awarded the Heart of Yuma Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2010 for her work in that effort. Transferred to Spokane, Wash., Tanya again volunteered at the Spokane Humane Society as a dog walker. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Haven Pet Center in San Jacinto. Tanya is a creative, outgoing and generous person, assisting with the Social Committee in any way she can. Linda Federoff (at right) wore many hats over the course of her working life, but one of the most creative, and her last job, was as an interior designer for several builders in southeast Virginia and members of the Tidewater Builders Association (TBA). The TBA was comprised of area builders from seven cities in competition to build award-winning residential homes that showcased and highlighted cutting edge design and technology in an event called Homearama. Over the course of five years, she worked tirelessly with custom builders, architects, sub- contractors, and furniture makers from foundation to nailing that last picture on the wall before the two-week competition would open to the public, allowing spectators to tour and vote on their favorite home. It paid off many times, winning several gold, silver, and people's choice awards. In the interim, she designed spec homes with builders to have in their inventory. Early on, she took several Interior Design courses in Chicago and was lucky to have shadowed one of their finest decorators. Being a part of the Social Committee allows her to use a bit of that design and creative f lair by helping to decorate for our big events. ~ Lisa Johnson, lisajohnson710@gmail.com, (714) 322-8877 Our event for Oct. 26 will be "Better In Boots" with a tribute to Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Reba McEntire. So put your boots on and join the fun!
