52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2024 As I sit at the beginning of September writing this article in my air conditioned office, I can't help but wonder … is it ever going to cool down? But never fear, your Four Seasons Water Volleyball Club has the answer. Cool off by joining us every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 12 pm at The Courts pool, and indoors at The Summit on Saturdays from 1 to 3 pm. In an attempt to beat the heat, the Chair Volleyball and Water Volleyball Clubs collaborated on a creative solution. The idea was to take the lawn chairs and put them in the pool. However, we replaced the lawn chairs with pool noodle sling-chairs; thus, creating the first ever sling-chair Volleyball Game! The proof is in the pictures. In September, we held our annual end-of-summer pool party and tournament at The Courts. The event included some great volleyball and a delicious dinner. Music was provided by DJ Dave, and more than 60 people were there to enjoy the fun. On Saturday, Oct. 5, we will participate in the Senior Olympics with an indoor tournament held from 1 to 3 pm at The Summit. The tournament will be followed by a potluck dinner. Even if you don't want to play, come watch all the action and bring your favorite dish to share. Water volleyball is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine. Everyone is welcome to come out to the pool and give it a try! You don't need to be a member of the club to play, and all ages, heights, and skill levels can participate! Just when we thought things might get a little cooler in September, some of the hottest days of the year graced us at the beginning of the month. But fortunately things cooled off a bit as the month progressed and we were able to get in a few laugh-filled games of lawn chair volleyball. We play on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from about 5:30 pm until sunset on The Lodge lawn area between the pickleball and paddle tennis courts. We invite you to come out and enjoy some volleyball fun. Lawn Chair Volleyball is played using a large, soft ball (almost like a beach ball) and a fairly low net. All you need to participate is a sturdy lawn chair and a desire to have fun with your friends and neighbors at Four Seasons Beaumont. If you're looking for a club where you can partake in a bit of friendly competition with very little physical exertion, come check us out! And bring your guests along. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. This starting time is our summer schedule. We try to finish play before it gets too hot usually around 9:30 am. We have added a lot of new players to our regular group within the last few months. We continue to have some fun getting together enjoying the game of Bocce Ball. If you are interested in learning the game, you are more than welcome to join us. Any questions?
