ere is a chill in the air and leaves are turning brilliant hues of orange and red. Fall has ocially arrived … or so I hope. e only thing that makes me smile more is the Sunshine Club. It is so fulfilling to bring a smile and a little sunshine to those in Solera that are grieving or recovering from surgery or illness. What a gift to be part of such a caring and giving club here in Solera. We would love to take this opportunity to invite you to join us at our monthly meetings and help spread sunshine. Our next meeting will be on Wed., Oct. 16 from 1 to 2 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. Hope to see you there. Even if you can't join us, you can still help. The only way we know someone needs uplifting or a simple smile, is with your assistance. Located in the Mail Room are forms you can fill out explaining the needs along with name, address, etc. Then drop it in the yellow box and we will take it from there. The other way is with your donations of recyclable aluminum cans and plastic bottles such as water, juice, or tea drinks that are clearly imprinted with the words CA-CRV or CA CASH REFUND. The funds brought in by your actions over the summer were amazing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The annual Solera Craft Fair is on Oct. 12 and as always, the Sunshine Club will be there to greet you with smiles, coffee, and cookies. Be sure to stop by and say hello. If you have any questions, please contact Diane Coffman at (949) 295-1097 or Kathy Marchi at (714) 600-6394. | LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2024 | 31 Located in the Mail Room are forms you can fill out explaining the SUNSHINE CLUB Sunshine Helpers Needed! Chronic illnesses, hospitalization, and/or death can hit people hard. If you have a friend or neighbor here in Solera who needs a spark of sunshine, let members of the Sunshine Club know. For your convenience, the yellow Sunshine Box is located on the table in the Mail Room where you can drop off the information for a resident or residents who are sick or have experienced a death in the family. Sometimes just a card or telephone call will brighten someone's day immensely.
