| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2024 | 23 Can you answer this riddle? "What should you keep aer you give it to someone else?" at was how we open our August Ladies Club monthly meeting and of course that got our brains in thinking mode. In August, bright and early on a Saturday morning, a group of energetic ladies rolled in with their sewing machines, pins and needles, scissors and electric scissors to start our project. Some of us from the Ladies Club, and even some members from PAWS, gathered in the Arts & Cras Room. We were on a mission — with 20 blankets of all sizes, we started our day. Our goal was to cut, pin, and sew these big blankets into as many pet-size blankets for our Four-Legged Friends at the Haven Pet Center. Remarkably, in three hours we made over 60 cozy and cuddly blankets for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs at the shelter. Every year, we support non- prot organizations and we heard that the Haven Pet Center was in need of donations. ree times a year we bring needed items to our meeting and Linda Elliot is always willing to assist in making the deliveries to the shelter. We had been gathering and saving blanket throughout the year. It's a great way to spend time together while having a gratifying feeling of supporting our community. Linda delivered the blankets and some other donations to Jose at the center. Linda told us Jose was so thankful to receive the blankets and the donations. e donations made Jose's eyes well with tears of joy and gratitude. What a way to make our hearts overow with love, by doing something so small. ere's this saying: "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Aerwards, some of us went to the Bistro for lunch and we invited our husbands. What a pleasant time we had getting acquainted. Maggie Coleman and Lynne Aries searched theaters for the movie e Fabulous Four, unfortunately it wasn't showing near to us. Instead, we met at Farmer Boy's, had lunch and proceeded to go see It Ends With Us as an alternative choice. It was a good movie, just a bit too serious for us. We have decided that next time, we are going to look for something on the humorous side — aer all, "laughter is the best medicine." Our next meeting is Mon., Oct. 28 at 1:30 in the Ballroom where we will be dressing up for Halloween and will try line dancing. We welcome you to be our guest and bring a friend to see what we are planning for November. For more information, call or text Julie Rodriguez at (951) 821-1970.
