We are in need of volunteers for a couple of the Committees: • Building and Grounds and Corbett Park Committees. These committees have been combined into one. We currently have two members and are unable to meet. As such, we are seeking members (must be an owner) to join. If you are interested in finding out what projects are planned on campus, then this is for you. This requires your attendance at one meeting every odd month on the second Monday at 10 am. • Finance Committee. We currently have three members and are seeking additional members (must be an owner) to join. If you are interested in the Association finances, this is for you. This requires your attendance at one meeting per month on the third Tuesday at 9:30 am. • Welcome Committee. We do not have any members currently. Once members are established, we will set up a monthly meeting. This requires us to meet with new owners, provide a tour of the campus, and offer information about the Association. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these Committees, please complete a Committee Interest Form by downloading it from our website, www.suncitycivic.com, clicking on the Forms tab on the top right of the page, and downloading and completing the form. Once complete, please return it to the onsite office, and the Board will review it at their next meeting. The Annual Senior Health Fair & BBQ is scheduled for Oct. 9, 11 am to 1 pm, at both Webb and North Halls. Details are on the following page. The event is sponsored by HCAG Medicare Insurance Agency and VNA Care. The Chief of Police will be writing an article for the Core Courier on a quarterly basis. There is an article in this issue of the Courier about fraud. I hope you find it useful. As you are all aware, per federal laws, and to keep our 55+ status, Age Verification is required every two years. We are on an even-year schedule, meaning the years we will mail these were/are 2020, 2022, 2024, 2026, and so on. We mailed the forms back in May for your completion and return. If you did not send in the forms, then you may have recently received a violation letter. All we ask is that you complete the forms and return them to the office to have on record. If you do not return the forms, then you will be sent to a hearing before the Board of Directors in which fines may be imposed. We also want to remind everyone that, if you try to take advantage of the system, we will find out. The Board has allowed guests to attend events recently. However, it has been brought to our attention that certain residents have had their guest use another resident's name and address to get into the events as they wanted to bring in more than one guest. We are dealing with this resident as this is written. However, if this continues, then we may be forced to start requesting activity cards to get into the events.
