| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2024 | 35 Inspiration Hill As we walk the trail at Inspiration Hill, we are always impressed by the varied community inspirations as expressed on the Donor Bricks. The trail begins by honoring our pioneer OHCC Founders, and continues with those who so bravely served us. There are bricks honoring family members, beloved pets, and favorite universities. What is your inspiration? The HOA continues to take orders for your own personalized bricks. Fill out an order form at the HOA office, and include a check for $75. Your inspiration brick will help line the trail to the top of the hill! RV Club The RV Club had one major group adventure over the later summer months while individual club members set off on their own excursions throughout the western states. Our club adventure landed many in Star Valley Ranch in Thayne, Wyoming hosted by Wagon Masters Sandee and Bill Lang, Fred and Sondra Peppe and Ken and Gay Spencer. This was a wonderful several days of eating, (and I do mean eating) and many great adventures. We had a barn hoedown with a chili dinner, a Mexican appetizers and margarita night, a f loat down Snake River, lunch and shopping in Jackson Hole, a tour of Palisades Dam accompanied by thunder, lightning and rain, oh my and then lunch at Melvins to calm the nerves. Then it was off to Afton Fair and Rodeo to partake in true Americana and the best honey corn dogs ever. Next was a trip to "Not too Shabby" country store for craft project, shopping and of course lunch and margaritas. Are you seeing a pattern here involving food? Then a night of star and galaxy gazing hosted by astronomy guru Lawrence Aiken, viewing the very dark, nighttime sky watching the stars sparkling like diamond and Milky Way shining like a pathway to heaven. Awesome! Then of course how else would you end a great trip other than to have a farewell dinner at Three Canyons River Restaurant, followed by a farewell burrito breakfast before you hit the road. Many members took advantage of being so close to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons to make that their next stop and some traveling on further. Also in August, club members Ron and Meddy Carso, Bob and Barbara Becker, Joe Moore and Susan Vincent attended the FMCA rally in Redmond, Oregon. As far as I know, none of them bought a new motorhome or super-duper RV accessories while there. The Becker's and Carso's then headed to Mammoth Lake to check out Devils Postpile National Monument, an amazing columnar basalt formation. Then there was some fishing, but no fish or stories thereof were brought back home to my knowledge. Joe and Susan explored other parts of Oregon while Roger and Jo Marrs headed to the Redwoods of Northern California and then on to Waterton Lakes in Alberta, Canada. Make a note that the next RV Club Membership Meeting will be on Tues., Oct. 22 at 6 pm and if you are not there, we may talk about you. Written by Marshall Kelsay
