With over 110 cruises all over the world, her favorite memories were her first cruise to Alaska, traveling to Egypt, cruising through Scandinavia and Russia, and the Panama Canal. Joan was admired as a generous person. She supported the efforts of many charities but her favorites were The Living Desert, DeAnn's PAASS Kids, Your Love Unleashed Dog Rescue. Joan had many cherished friends in the Sun Lakes community. She was well loved and will be dearly missed by all. Diane Elizabeth Delis, a beacon of generosity and love, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Ontario, California. Born on January 18, 1943, in Roscommon, Michigan, Diane's compassion and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a cherished wife, stepmother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. Her family and close friends called her "Di." One of her passions was spending time in the kitchen testing all the latest recipes on her family and friends. It was clear Paula Dean had competition when Di was in the kitchen. Christmas shopping was enjoyed all year long so that she would have free time during the holidays to prepare her special holiday meals which were always a hit with her grandchildren. She was a pro at entertaining and many people were blessed to be at her table. She shared 43 beautiful years with the love of her life, Arthur Delis. When he retired, she started planning trips that took them around the world. They happily spent years traveling via a cruise ship or plane together. Di's academic achievements were a testament to her intellect and determination. She earned an Associate's Degree in Arts from Golden West College in 1973, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton in 1974. Her exceptional performance earned her a Special Merit Award from the Department of Finance and election to Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest honor for a business school student. Professionally, Diane was a respected figure in the finance industry. She retired as Vice President of Special Projects from Home Savings and previously served as a Residential Loan Manager with American Savings. Her colleagues admired her for her sharp mind and her ability to lead with both strength and compassion. Her zest for life extended beyond her professional endeavors. She was an active member of the Red Hats and the Executive Golf Club at Sun Lakes. Her contributions to the Lifestyles Magazine Committee at Sun Lakes were cherished by her community. She also loved to gamble at Morongo and the staff loved her as well. When she hit the jackpot, her favorite staff members always benefited from her generosity. Di had a huge heart and it was her best asset. She went out of her way to make sure the needs of her family and friends were being met, if not, she was there to meet them. Her husband Art Delis, brother Richard Baldwin, sister Judy Solomon, and step-children Paul Delis (Kelly), Dana Goldman, and John Delis (Chris), will all hold her memory dear. Her grandchildren Tyler Muskavitch (Bree), Cody Muskavitch, Austin Santoro, John Delis Jr, Jasmine Delis (Frank), Amanda Keogh (Matt), and Misty Flint (Chris), as well as her great-grandchildren, will forever be inspired by her love and guidance. She will also be missed by her beloved kitties, Cosmo and Rose. Diane was predeceased by her father Lloyd Baldwin, mother Nellie Baldwin, and grandson Trevor Muskavitch, who have now welcomed her with open arms. Those who knew Di will remember her as a beautiful, vibrant, generous, loving, and intelligent woman who was always ready for a party. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will continue to be deeply felt, the world has lost a smile that can never be replaced. As we bid farewell to Diane Elizabeth Delis, we celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived and a woman profoundly loved. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Any donations can be made to City of Hope. 72 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2024 | Joan Blumenfeld May 6, 1933 - July 5, 2024.
