Any Member Comments regarding the proposed changes may be emailed to Kimberly Evans at Kimberly.evans@ pcminternet.com. Comments on the proposed changes will be submitted to the Board for its consideration. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 22, RULE 22.7 Each residence must have one (and only one) address number affixed to the front of the residence. The address number can be lighted or not and must be visible from the street. Variation in style is allowed and the numbers can either be vertical or horizontal, but the numbers must all be the same style, size and, color and must all be mounted in the same direction, not staggered. Address numbers can be made out of metal, wood, ceramic tile or other similar material and should complement, and aesthetically blend in with, the exterior color of the residence, but not be the same color of the residence. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 15, RULE 15.10 [Current Section 15.10 is titled Solar Collectors. That section will be deleted and replaced with the language below and titled "Solar".] This rule sets forth reasonable guidelines for the installation of solar in The Colony. California Civil Code Section 714 states that a Homeowners Association cannot (1) prohibit solar energy systems; (2) impose restrictions that significantly increase their cost; or (3) impose restrictions that significantly decrease their efficiency. 15.10.1 A solar energy system for producing electricity shall meet all applicable safety and performance (reliability) standards established by local, state and federal regulatory agencies. 15.10.2 Ground-mounted solar energy equipment is prohibited. 15.10.3 Roof-mounted solar energy equipment must be mounted on the roof f lush with the existing roof pitch or slope. Frames are to be colored to compliment the roof, and must be cut to the exact length of the panel. Solar energy equipment in the garage is allowed, and encouraged. 15.10.4 Wall mounted equipment (for example: meter boxes and junction boxes), can be painted the same color as the stucco of the residence. 15.10.5 Wall mounted metal/galvanized piping that encloses conduit must be painted the same color as the stucco of the residence. 15.10.6 All solar equipment must be pre-approved in writing by the Architectural Committee (ACC) prior to installation. 15.10.7 (formerly Section 22.8 and moved intact to Section 15.10) If the residence has solar panels on the roof, no decorative accessory, plastic wrap or any other non-solar equipment items may be attached to or placed on or near the solar panels.
