| LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2024 | 37
Hitting the dirt or asphalt is a good thing for
the members of Solera 4x4 Club. We're a group
of 4x4 enthusiasts who will travel paved as well as easy dirt trails
for fun and we try every other month or so. Some of us will also
do spur-of-the-moment trips on dirt if anyone is interested.
Our latest trip with Ernie, Rose and Tim and my wife Susan
took us up to Thomas Mtn. outside of Lake Hemet (photo right,
top) and to that dirt trail loop that gave us the opportunity to
view some great sights from the mountain top and enjoy lunch
together in the shade at one of the many camp-grounds available
up there. The elevation of Thomas Mtn is around 6800 feet.
Another trip had us on pavement through Joshua Tree
National Park with Bill and Ernie, Ernie, Tim and Susan and
me. Fun times and great sight-seeing. We also took at trip up
to Crystal Lake through Azusa Canyon and when we arrived the
place was closed so we didn't get to enjoy the fine food up there
but the scenic drive was fun. A trip to Big Bear followed and we
enjoyed a nice lunch up there prior to heading back down the
hill.
Solera 4x4 meets the second Wednesday of the month at 4:30
pm in the Solera Clubhouse for an hour. 4x4 owners including
those of Jeeps, Subies, Broncos, FJ's, pick ups are welcome to
join.
See you soon I hope, either on the trail, road or our meeting.
