| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2024 | 11 By Beverly Simmons, Master Board 2nd Vice-President DID YOU KNOW??? Did you know that the House Accounts will be discontinued at the end of November? Here's what that means for you. You will continue to use your ID card to open a tab at the Restaurant, Lounge, Sandwedge, and Pro Shop, but you will pay that tab using one of your credit cards. What this change will do for your Association is decrease labor in Administration by over $30K per year as it eliminates the processing and tracking of these accounts. It will also eliminate the Accounts Receivables carried on the books, which is money owed to the Association, by approximately $150K per month. Yes, per month! These are not payments that are past due, these are charges made by any of us who use a House Account. When we charge to our House Account, it sits on that account until we are billed, potentially 30 days, and then we have another 30 days to pay it without being late! That's 60 days … and then most end up paying it with a credit card anyway. So be sure to bring a credit card with you starting Dec. 1 as the last day you can use your House Account will be Nov. 30. Did you know that the heaters for the outdoor pools at the North and Main Clubhouses will be turned off for the winter months starting on Sun., Nov. 3? This is a week later than usual, giving you an extra weekend to enjoy these heated pools. The hot tubs at both clubhouses remain heated throughout the year, so you can still come down and enjoy a relaxing dip in them. The South Clubhouse indoor pool stays open and heated year-round. EPAP ANIMAL RESCUE GROUP Our next meeting is Mon., Nov. 18 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. I am working on getting a few people in with their pets. We have a tortoise coming in that might be in hibernation but the owner will tell us all about caring for him. If you have a pet with an unusual story, bring them in; we would love to hear about them! Hope to see you there! Info., Sandra Burgon, (909) 855-0226. Did you know that the way you treat others sets the stage for the way they treat you? It's easy to get caught up in our own problems and lash out at someone or make demands which puts everyone on the defensive. It is easier to motivate others with polite requests and a positive attitude rather than rude demands and negativity. Attitude is everything, so lead with an attitude of kindness and positivity. Look for the good in a situation instead of harping on the negative. Look for the good in others, look for the good in yourself – it's there! – and let it shine! Happy holidays, everyone! Did you know Kindness can become its own motive? We are made kind by being kind. ~ Eric Hoffer
