56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2024 The weather has finally cooled off a bit, but the volleyball competition in the pool is as hot as ever! In October, members participated in the first ever Four Seasons Water Volleyball Club Senior Olympics with an indoor tournament held at The Summit. After two hours of intense competition, the tournament winners were determined. Congratulations to captain Tom Conigliaro and his team for securing the gold medal. Congratulations also go out to the members of Team Roger Constance and Team Dave Rohrbacker for their silver and bronze medals, respectively. One of our tournament gold medal winners is the club's oldest member, 81-year-old Colonel John Morgan. John, aka "the General," was born in 1943 in Jamestown, New York. After getting a BS degree in aeronautics, he served with the USAF in Vietnam flying AC- 119k Gunships. He retired in 1997 as Deputy Commander, Logistic Group, 452 AMW. He and his wife Shirley moved to Four Seasons Beaumont in 2021. They love it here and have made many friends by participating in the activities offered in our community. Bocce ball and water volleyball are his favorites. He told me, "Water volleyball has offered me an excellent way to keep fit, and is something I look forward to weekly." The Water Volleyball Club also held their annual end of Summer Pool Party and Tournament in September. Winning this Tournament was Team Roger Constance also featured in the picture above. Water volleyball is a great way to get out of the house this winter for some low-impact exercise. You can join John and the rest of the club for our winter season every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at The Summit. Everyone is welcome to come out and give it a try. You don't need to be a member of the club to play, and all ages, heights, and skill levels can participate!
