FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2024 63 The Billiards For Fun Group held its third quarterly tournament in September. The first-place team was Dave Martin and Doug Strenger. The second-place team was Ron Erickson and Bob Semler. Congratulations to both teams! We meet every Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm, and 1 to 3 pm. You can play in both sessions or just one of the sessions. We welcome everyone to give our group a try. Recently two new players (Bill and Brent) have joined us and we have not scared them away yet. Just kidding … they are truly two of the nicest men and good billiards players on top of that. Hope to see you on Tuesdays. For more information, please contact Paul Snyder at (909) 214- 9464 or Donna Snyder at (909) 435-6589. ~ Donna Snyder Billiards for Fun Group In September we had 8-Ball Tournaments with both Solera Diamond Valley and Solera Oak Valley Greens. We brought home the trophy again from our competition with Solera Diamond Valley in Hemet. Yeah! We had an in-house 9-Ball Tournament in September. Players in this double-elimination 8-Ball Tournament included Doug, Augie, Dave, Rick, Calvin, and Willis, who graced us with his presence and participation. Willis won round one and Rick won round two. After a playoff game for the championship, Rick ended up winning the overall tournament. Congratulations, Rick! The 8-Ball Club presents pool lovers with lots of opportunities for practice and tournaments. The 8-Ball Club practices or plays Tournaments Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30 to 9 pm. The monthly 8-Ball Club business meeting is held on the first Wednesday of each month. In-house tournaments include an 8-Ball tournament on the second Wednesday of the month and a 9-Ball Tournament on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The Club also competes in team events with Solera Oak Valley (1615 Fairway Drive, Beaumont) and Solera Diamond Valley (1645 Paseo Diamonte, Hemet) on the first, second, third, and fourth Monday of each month: two here and two away. If you're new to the game or have played it before, don't be shy, stop by, pick up a stick, and give us a try. Walk in and ask for Del, Calvin, or any of the members who are playing about the Club. The 8-Ball Club is always looking for new members. There is a calendar of our monthly events plus sign-up sheets in The Lodge Billiards Room on the 8-Ball Club bulletin board. If you have any questions about your 8-Ball Club, contact one of the officers: Captain Del Lyles at (951) 267-1752 or Co-Captain Calvin Cummings at (626) 826-1452. ~ Calvin Cummings 8-Ball Club Wild Bunch Billiards Looks like the new nine-foot billiards tables are a success and everyone's game is improving. The "Wild Bunch" is in full swing, and we look forward to having those who are serious and competitive billiards players join us. We enjoy playing 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and Scotch Doubles. You don't have to be the best player, just a player who wants to improve their game in a more competitive setting. The "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league, and we are always looking for great competition. If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to join us on Fridays from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Billiards Room for the stimulation of competitive play.
