10 | THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2024 | ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY SECURITY STATISTICS We are always looking for ways to improve entry into The Colony for you, your guests, and your vendors. Reducing congestion at the Jackson Gate is the Association's priority. By reviewing and adhering to the guidelines below, it will greatly reduce traffic backup at the Jackson Gate. Following these guidelines and ensuring that correct information is provided to the guard attendant will make everyone's experience faster and easier. Providing your guests and vendors with this information will also ease their frustrations as well. Be Prepared When Entering the Community 1. Provide Residents Name and Address: Your guest or vendor must be able to provide the resident's name and property address to the gate attendant upon entry. If your guest or vendor is unsure of your address or last name at the time of entry, a call will be made to you to verify entry for that individual. 2. Be Ready to Show identication: Residents arriving in Uber/ Lyft, rental cars, etc., must be prepared to have identification ready so the gate attendant can verify that you are a resident. 3. Pre-Authorize guests/vendors prior to arrival: Enter all guests/vendors into the iGATE system at least 30 minutes prior to their arrival. If you are calling the front gate to allow a guest or vendor in, you will need to provide your verbal password, guest full name, and/or company name of the vendor. 4. Follow All Security Instructions: Please comply with all instructions provided by security personnel during the entry process. Security Statistics: For September 2024, there were a total of 23,273 gate entries recorded consisting of guests, recreational vehicles, vendors, and golfers. Allied Security performed 9 property/residence checks and issued 66 citations for stop sign violations and 16 speeding citations. There were 16 medical, fire, and police incidents. Allied cited 63 residents for various resident parking violations and guest/vendor violations. 43 residents were cited for putting trash cans out too early and/or not putting them away. 57 garage doors were found to be open and Allied made calls to each resident to advise them to close their garage doors. Allied responded to 77 miscellaneous incidents related to deceased residents, dogs (barking, lost, off leash), signage (not allowed), disorderly conduct, gate strikes/tailgaters, suspicious activity, trespassers, welfare checks, broken/burst water lines.
