| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2024 | 33 Men's Golf Pancake Breakfast By Greg Gries It won't be long now! The second Pancake Breakfast of the year, hosted by the Colony Men's Golf Club, is Saturday, Nov. 16 from 8 to 10:30 am in the Auditorium. Join us and enjoy those delicious pancakes and sausages and meet with your friends and neighbors! As a reminder, proceeds from these breakfasts are used to fund our Scholarship Program for college-bound Murrieta High School athletes. Tickets will be available from Men's Golf Club members during the Crafts Fair on Nov. 9. Tickets will also be available from CMGC members in the Clubhouse and at the Activities Office. Tickets can be purchased at the door of the Auditorium on the morning of the breakfast. Adults $7 (cash or check payable to CMGC); Kids (under 12) $3 (tickets only available at the door). Ladies Golf By Judy Lebovitz, 951-461-0065 As often happens, October began with high temperatures, which was not good for our charity tournament, but the ladies who played were real troupers. It was such a special day, and the golfers played a scramble while barely surviving the heat. Our delicious Greek luncheon was catered by the Old Market Grill on Clinton Keith. The Auditorium was decorated so beautifully with pink floral centerpieces, pink place mats, napkins and plates. We had a bar tended by two of our members' husbands and other husbands helped serve lunch. Two representatives from Michelle's Place and one from Hospice of the Valleys were with us and spoke about their organizations and what they do. Both are such worthwhile charities, and they do so much for our community yet are totally run by donations. Our small group of golfers is pleased to help support them and we were able to donate a little over $2,000 to each charity this year. By the time this November issue is printed, we should be enjoying some nice fall weather. We will be playing at 8 am for the next three months, and we are happy to have some new members joining us. If you are interested in learning more about our club, please contact Peggy Clendenen, 951-696-2169, or me. In the meantime, enjoy Thanksgiving and as you make your plans for the holidays. We hope to see you on the links! L to R: Janice Mrkonjic, Sharon Smith, Barbara Spraul, Debbie Johnson, Barbara Crosdale, Karen Alonzo, Diane Cole, Pat Bailey, Paula ompson, Ellen Bonnet Michelle's Place reps are Marilyn Watson and Mike Shirley.
