| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2024 | 31 Bingo is now officially on our winter break. For me personally, August and September were very busy, and I was being pulled in many different directions. I'm sure no different than many of you. However, my head was just not in the game (pun intended), and for that I apologize. When the September issue of OHCC Living came out, I got an email from Alicia Oliger, our September Ice Cream Break sponsor. She wondered why her name was not included in my September article. A little perplexed, I reviewed my article. Sure enough, I had included Alicia's picture, but nothing more! No name, no bio information, and no reason as to why Alicia's picture had been included in my article. This is what should have been in the September article – Alicia Oliger moved to OHCC about 17 years ago, after living in various countries overseas. She loves her life at OHCC, which includes playing Hand and Foot (cards), Bocce, various exercise classes, walking and hiking, wine tasting, sailing and is a new mahjongg player. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family. Next year, she hopes to add golf. Alicia is the sponsor for Bingo's September Ice Cream Break. Thank you for your sponsorship. Andrea Anderson did not fare any better. My October OHCC Living article never got written at all. Andrea is Bingo's October Ice Cream Break sponsor. Andrea is an active real estate agent selling homes in North County San Diego. Andrea is also very active with Habitat for Humanity, building homes in third world countries. Andrea was also a sponsor of Bingo in February. Thank you to Andrea for her sponsorship in both February and October. Andrea was also one of several sponsors for Bingo's OHCC 40th anniversary event. As the President of Bingo, and official representative, I want to thank both Alicia and Andrea for their support and hope they will consider continuing their support in the future. Every month I try to keep the rumor mill at bay with a report about Bingo's request for new equipment. Again, I hear various rumors, likely the same as you, but there is nothing official. I am not aware of any movement by the Master Board regarding approval, compromising, or denying our request for equipment funding. We are still in wait and see mode. Our next Bingo Game will be Jan. 18, 2025. Bingo has some fun events in the works for 2025. We want to try and spice things up a bit! Mark your calendar. I leave you with this thought – "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." — Bill Keane For more information, visit: https://ohccbingo.wixsite.com/ohcc- bingo.
